Who inspires you personally as a trombonist/keyboardist.

Nils Landgren is one of my favourite musicians, and the biggest influence on me as a trombone player.

What is your favorite Captain Stu song?

Value Systems, for the horn parts, the solos and the blatant african section.

What is your favourite album of all time?

Big big question.  Avishai Cohen – Continuo springs to mind.  DJ Shadow – Entroducing…, NOFX – War on Errorism; there’s a lot of albums I couldn’t do without.  Deffos including Hog Hoggidy Hog – Oink!

What age did you start playing and why did you choose your instrument/s?

Keyboard at 5, Trombone at 13.  My mom took me for piano lessons, which bailed when I switched to Trombone.  Had to take piano for a year at university which kept it up.  Trombone, I saw a “firy” brass teacher from high school playing and was so intrigued I started.  Biggest mistake ever.

In your spare time what do u do?

After I factor in band, work and drinking, I have no spare time.  What do I want to do in my spare time, though…. rock climbing, team sports, movies.  Riding my bike.  Deffos riding my motorbike.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

An inventor, then a musician – big band jazz.  After a brief stint of life coaching, we’re into our online poker phase.

If you could kick any historical figure in the balls who would it be?

George W Bush.  Just because he acts like such a retard, where he really shouldn’t be.

Where’s the weirdest place you’ve slept on tour?

Besides tents, cars, floors, footstools, chairs… nothing weird…

Hogs, Rudies, Checked Zebra, ForgottenSuperhero, check out some newbies.

What is your favourite quote from a movie /book ?

They decide to take a shortcut down through the alley. Wrong fuckin’ alley.
